It鈥檚 crazy to think that we鈥檙e almost in the fifth month of this year already. 2022 has been exciting and lively to say the least and has brought about many achievements and celebrations for the 缅北禁地 team. One of the most consistently positive aspects of the year thus far has been our Charity of the Month program!听

In case you鈥檙e new, the Charity of the Month program that we have here at the 缅北禁地 Group of Companies helps us to give back to the community that supports us each month. Every last Thursday of the month, we donate 5% of the sales from all eight of our companies to a local charity of our choice. Each month, our office buzzes with energy as all team members work hard to make the biggest possible donation to our monthly charity of choice.听

We take suggestions for local charities from customers and partners alike and try to ensure that we are making a positive difference in many different areas of our community. Each month, we aim to make donations that will help various different underprivileged groups or philanthropic initiatives within Edmonton and the surrounding areas. About Our April 2022 Organization

Our April Charity of the Month this year is鈥� the South Alberta Services Dog Foundation who supports ! Aspen Service Dogs is an Alberta Government Qualified Service Dog Organization that is based in Edmonton and provides 鈥渉ighly trained, well-behaved canines that are able to perform a variety of tasks for their human partner,鈥� according to their website.听

Mobility, Autism, PTSD, and Facility Service Dogs can all be trained at Aspen and receive an incredibly high level of training so that they can provide the best service possible. Aspen Service Dogs provides both a Fully Trained Service Dog Program and an Owner Trained Service Dog Program and four main types of service dogs: Mobility Service Dogs, Autism Service Dogs, PTSD Service Dogs, and Facility Service Dogs.听

The team of passionate, knowledgeable trainers brings a high level of commitment and expertise and revels in the opportunity to bring helpful dogs to people in need. They have personally seen the positive impact that well-trained service dogs can make in peoples鈥� lives and are dedicated to continuing to change lives.

Tomorrow, February 24th, we鈥檒l be celebrating our second Charity Day of the year by donating 5% of our daily sales to the Charity of the Month, The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts.听

The supports a collective of over 200 artists with developmental disabilities in their studio and gallery space on 118th Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. The Nina (pronounced n-eye-na) believes in the importance of creation and exhibition of art by those who face barriers to artistic expression. Artists at the Nina work in a variety of mediums: drawing, painting, clay, fibre arts, printmaking, dance, and more. Their work is exhibited locally and across Canada, and has been included in international exhibitions.听聽

The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts describes their vision as the following:

鈥楢ll people have the right to achieve their highest potential, which includes the right to creative expression. Creativity lies within everyone and can be powerfully expressed through the arts. As this first month of 2022 comes to a close, we鈥檝e spent time reflecting on our successes in 2021 and our opportunities for improvement in 2022. One of the initiatives that we are the most proud of and have enjoyed the most this past year is our Charity of the Month program.听

Our Marketing and Leadership Teams collaborated to create our Charity of the Month program as a way to continue giving back to the community that supports us, despite the limits that the pandemic placed on in-person volunteer opportunities. Each month, we donate 5% of our total sales made on the last Thursday of the month to our charity of choice! Throughout 2021, we had the privilege of donating a total of $28,180.40 to well-deserving local charities and we can鈥檛 wait to see what positive change we can help bring about in 2022!听

Kicking Off 2022 Right

With the last Thursday of January (Charity Day!) coming up very quickly, we wanted to proudly announce that for our January Charity of the Month, we are donating to鈥� (drum roll please)… ! The Lois Hole Hospital Women鈥檚 Society 鈥減rovides expert patient care for women in all ages and in all stages of life.鈥� By focusing on both medical research and medical treatment for women, The Lois Hole Hospital Women鈥檚 Society 鈥渟erves as the center of excellence for women鈥檚 health in Canada鈥檚 northwest.鈥�
